Not Your Mother’s Publishing Model – A Step-by-Step Guide to Becoming a Successful E-Published Author
I’ve compiled all the tips, tricks, organizational strategies, promo ideas, etc. I’ve learned over the past 9 years or so into one easy-to-follow guide. This book will provide you with all you need to know to become a successful, e-published author. Stay tuned for a release date, and meanwhile, check out the cool cover Fiona put together for me.
I really like it and would never have thought to add a model/person. I like how the cover shows the contrast between old and new, with the ink well/quill and the girl on the laptop.
I’m excited about this book. It’s my first attempt at novel-length nonfiction, but if it’s successful, I have a feeling it won’t be my last.
Helping aspiring authors has always been important to me, and I spend much of my time dispensing advice, editing friends’ manuscripts (even for publishers other than Noble), and thinking of ways to help “newbies” establish a foothold in this industry. This book seemed like a natural way to continue with that work.

Wow, how cool is this?! I can’t wait to grab my copy!
Thanks, Sarah. I’ve had a lot of fun writing it. I’m in the self-edit stage, and I’m also fleshing it out a bit — I keep thinking of more things to add, lol — but I figure it’ll be finished and available by the end of the month. Easiest thing I’ve ever written. Probably because it’s something I’ve lived and breathed for about the last decade.
That sounds like a promising… and useful… project. It’s such a minefield to navigate, this amorphous industry these days.
Don’t I know it! And there’s so much information out there, an author could spend months finding and reading it all. This book covers all the major topics, and compiles a lot of tips and links into one place. I not only share my own thoughts and experience; I’ve also done a lot of the legwork and gathered the information on some topics from the available sources. The final chapter contains loads of valuable links, where an author can find even more information on any given topic.
So excited, can’t wait until it’s available. If it’s anything like the NRP style guide it will be amazing and beyond helpful. Now get to work and finish the damn thing. We newbies are waiting to be enlightened by you, Jill
I”m thinking another week, maybe ten days. I have the first draft nearly complete, but I want to go back through and flesh out certain areas. Plus, I have to do this in between NRP work, so it’s a little slower going than it might otherwise be. :-/ I’ll keep you posted, though. I’m excited to see the finished product!
